USGS Willamette River Tributary width measurements - 2002
Site indices are arbitrary numbers, used only for reference.
Latitude and longitude are in degrees/minutes/seconds or in decimal degrees, NAD27.
River miles were taken from USGS quadrangle maps (1:24000) are within about 0.1 to 0.2 miles of the actual location.
The best spatial reference location is provided by the latitude/longitude data, collected by GPS.
Map elevations were pulled off of USGS quad topo maps and are approximate.
GPS elevations are not included due to their inaccuracy for the units we were using.
Streamflow data are in cubic feet per second and are from USGS gages at the nearest site, which is not necessarily
co-located with the width measurement site.
Right and left bank designations are used in the standard manner (looking downstream).
If the site is noted as being a side channel, then it is not the main channel and the river is braided in that area.
The total number of photos taken at a site is indicated in the worksheet.  Not all the photos have hyperlinks to them.
Some field notes were misplaced, resulting in some lost width measurements for June on the Clackamas and South Santiam.
We still have the photos, however, so some relative width changes might be estimated from the pictures.
