Upper Klamath Basin Collaborative Groundwater Monitoring

Criteria for Displaying Well Data

Site Selection

In order for a well to be displayed on the map, it must meet the following site criteria:

  • Well records must have a minimum of four measurements to be displayed on the map. Assuming each well is monitored quarterly, we prefer to have at least a full year of measurements to be able to show changes in groundwater levels.
  • Wells must be actively monitored. A site is considered active if it has been monitored at least once in the past two years.
  • Wells must be located within the Klamath Basin. Wells located within Klamath County may or may not be located in the Klamath Basin.
Data Criteria

Some well data may have been excluded based on the following criteria:

  • Waterlevels measured during well pumping or recovery have been excluded as these measurements do not reflect the natural waterlevel of the well.
  • If a well was monitored more than once in a given season, a single value is selected to calculate groundwater level change. For Winter and Spring the lowest waterlevel is selected, while the highest waterlevel is selected for Summer and Fall.
